Utaka Foundation Team Hits 2018 SATUC World Cup Final

Nigeria’s representative in the ongoing 2018 SATUC Five-a-Side Football World Cup, John Utaka Foundation Football Team, fought hard yesterday to beat host Bulgaria 1-0 in the semifinal to sail through to the final of the competition.

The highest goal-scorer of the team and tournament, Arafat Hussain, scored Nigeria’s lone goal in the match this increase his goals to seven scored so far in the competition.

Nigeria will now meet Liberia who walloped Morocco 5-1 in the other semifinal today in the final of the competition.

The Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, in a commendation letter sent to the team read thus: The Minister of Youths and Sports Development Barrister Solomon Dalung highly commend the efforts of the John Utaka Foundation underprivileged football team in winning all their matches so far in the 2018 SATUC World Cup meant for the underprivileged kids across he globe especially beating the host team Bulgaria to qualify for the final of the competition.

“We are indeed proud of the contingent and Nigeria will be supporting the team with their prayers to come back home with the trophy,” concludes the statement.

The minister is also ready to receive the team in Abuja on Monday.

Also the Foundation owner, John Utaka, has promised the team N1.8 million if they win the competition.
