Music Crooner Waje’s PA Calls her out over Unpaid Salary

Sunday Ehigiator

It all started when last weekend, Nigerian music crooner, Waje took to Instagram to advise young people seeking success that the struggle is real and not as glamorous as they often think.

In her post, she wrote “Dear young people, you have to work! You think because of the cloths and the lifestyle, we hang our legs and sit with makeup and a smile? Its disheartening.

“You send me direct messages of how you want a job etc. In the last three months, I have worked with four personal assistants with everybody complaining the job is stressful. So you thought the job was taking pictures?”

Her ex-assistant, one Yvonne Imongan who had just parted ways with the singer replied her thus, “I almost lost my life working with you. Personal assistants are people’s children not classified maids”.

Yvonne who narrated her ordeal after quitting her job as Waje’s PA said, “I almost lost my life running errands for her. All I asked for was time to study for my forthcoming exams and also work for her. I wasn’t really about the pay.

“I fell ill in the process of working for her and funny enough, I didn’t get a little support for my medical bills. I let that slid.

“All this drama just started this morning when I asked for a few days to study, she asked if this job was convenient, and I replied no just for the main time, not like I wanted to quit.

“I thought she understood as a mother would. Tomorrow completes a month I started working with her efficiently. I got home and I asked if I would be paid for the one month I worked but she replied no, saying I was on probation.
“Sometimes I come home late without eating and sometimes I have to resume work without eating and it caused my ulcer to start again. She started all this by bringing it to the social media.”

With the hullabaloo the post caused, the singer was forced to later pay Imongan the one month salary she had earlier requested for.
