Yinka kolawole in Osogbo
The Action Peoples Party (APP) in Osun State has elected Ekundayo Precious Ademola, as its candidate for the September 22, governorship election in the state.
Ekundayo, who emerged through consensus arrangement at the party’s governorship primary election held in Osogbo at the weekend was supported by all the delegates from the 30 Local Government Areas of the state and the Area Office.
The election monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and observed by security operatives was conducted by national officers of the party.
Members of the APP who converged on Zaso hotel, Osogbo, venue of the election unanimously pulled their weight behind the candidature of Ekundayo.
Ekundayo, a former state chairman of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) was untill recently a cheiftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governorship hopeful hails from Ofatedo in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun West senatorial district of the state.
In his acceptance speech, Ekundayo, promised to abolish poverty in the state if voted as the next governor of the state.
He assured that his administration will promote good governance and also develop the state, just as he promised to uphold the ideology and agenda of the APP.
Ekundayo also promised to run an all -inclusive government with his five points agenda which he said centre on peace, progress and development of the state among others.
