The Chief Executive Officer, Rasaki Music Group, Damilola Afolabi, popularly known as LAX has expressed the desire of his newly founded record label, Rasaki Music Group, to groom young up and coming music talents across the country.

Afolabi, who disclosed this recently in a chat he had with THISDAY in his Lekki, Lagos office, noted that the record label was founded to assist young talents, and it is a one-stop studio that has a 360 deal for recording and live band performance.

He also stated that the record label would assist artiste check their legal papers if they want to sign to another record label, adding that they would also ensure that the legal papers are update so that they don’t have challenges in the future.

Afolabi explained that they are trying to make the music industry better structure wise, noting that presently, individuals are making financial gains through digital sales such as I-Tunes, portify, and others digital platforms, “we are going to help artists grow main goal in the industry.”

The Rasaki Music CEO stated that in picking music talents, they focus on individuals with exceptional abilities whose voice sounds different from others, adding that uniqueness is key for them and they spread their searchlight beyond Lagos State.

He added: “We pick individuals that sound different and unique. This is the criteria for selection of talents. There are talents in other States that we can get through to them through social media, therefore if I find talents in other states I don’t mind signing as well. Presently, I have an artiste, I am working on. He is the first person we will unleash, after that we will start looking for talents. We search for these talents in any way; it can be through social media or someone giving me a compact disc (CD).
