FG Appoints Sabir as CMD Danfodiyo Varsity Teaching Hospital

The federal government has approved the appointment of Dr. Anas Sabir as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Head, Public Affairs Unit of the Hospital, Malam Buhari Abubakar, in Sokoto on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the appointment is for a period of four years.

The statement said Sabir’s appointment was conveyed to him in a letterRef.No DHS. 129/T/129, dated June 4, 2018 and signed by the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole.

“It is my expectation that you will work collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the Hospital continues to deliver quality healthcare services to our people,” it said.

The statement further said the appointment took effect from May 17, 2018.

Sabir, a Consultant Endocrinologist, was the former Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee of the hospital.

Until his appointment, Sabir was the Acting Chief Medical Director of the hospital before he succeeded Dr. Yakubu Ahmed, who completed a
two-term tenure of eight years.
