Speaker Dogara Remains the Rallying Point of APC, Says Tukur

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has been described as the strongest rallying point for the party considering the fact that he remains the most consistent and highest donor of funds to the Buhari Campaign Organisation in Bauchi State.

Speaking amidst the political uncertainties beclouding the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), the member representing Lere\Bula constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon Muhammad Aminu Tukur while addressing a press conference  yeserday at the NUJ Press Center in Bauchi pointing out that as the returning agent for PMB at the presidential convention of the APC in December 2014, Dogara will not do anything to undermine the federal government led by the APC under President  Buhari.

Hon  Tukur who was reacting to a move by a group from the Dass\Tafawa Balewa\Bogoro Federal Constituency of Bauchi State declared that, “the President has over the last three years been making pronouncement on the personality, virtue and integrity of Digara in most given events.”

He further stated that Dogara has all this while been the only link between the presidency and the National Assembly in resolving issues of conflict between the two arms of government in the country.

The legislator therefore assured that Dogara will never be a party to the impeachment threat by the National Assembly because according to him, “ he will never destroy a house he contributed so emmensely to build”.

On the leadership crisis rocking the state chapter of the party,  Tukur declared that the faction loyal to  Dogara has already filed a suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja challenging the outcome of the party congresses conducted in the state.

He concluded that, “it came to our knowledge that an unknown, clandestine group, suspected to be hired by a failing politician in Bauchi State is all out to discredit the honour and integrity of the Speaker for no reasons other than pecuniary, self-serving and parochial”.

It would be recalled that a group of politicians from the Dass\Tafawa Balewa\Bogoro federal constituency had during the last week stormed the APC state secretariat in Bauchi warning the Speaker to steer clear of the impeachment move on the President or risk been recalled in line with the constitutional provisions of the country.
