Hazard Hopes Belgium’ll be Different to England’s Golden

Eden Hazard hopes Belgium do not suffer the same fate as England and waste the potential of their own ‘Golden Generation’.
Belgium head to the World Cup third in the latest FIFA rankings, with a squad that boasts the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Thibaut Courtois, Romelu Lukaku and Jan Vertonghen in addition to Hazard.
The Three Lions face Belgium in their final Group G game in Kaliningrad on June 28 and Hazard is hoping the Red Devils go on to claim silverware – unlike England teams of the past.
“We know what we are. We are good players, we all play in the big games in England, in Italy and in Spain,” he said.
“10 years or 15 years ago, you had this ‘Golden Generation’ in England but you won nothing. Now I think the fans, journalists, all of Belgium, the country just wants to win something.
“We have a ‘Golden Generation’ – we just want to win something now. Can we be different to England? Maybe, maybe, we will see.”
Belgium comfortably defeated Egypt 3-0 on Wednesday and will now face Costa Rica in their final warm-up match on Monday night.
Roberto Martinez’s side will then open their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 18 before facing Tunisia and England.Generation
