Vowgas Commends NCDMB Over SLA with Oil Producers

Receives ISO certification

Impressed with the determination of the Nigerian Content Development Management Board (NCDMB) to shorten the contracting cycle within the oil and Gas industry, the Managing Director of Vowgas Nigeria Ltd, Mr. Godwin Izomor, has commended the agency for coming to the aid of operators in the oil and gas industry.

The NCDMB had recently signed the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) with the aim of shortening the Nigerian Oil and Gas Contracting Cycle which has been blamed for the delay in execution of projects within the industry. The Nigerian experience was considered the longest in the global oil and gas industry.

Izomor lauded the courage and initiative of the leadership of NCDMB, NNPC and OPTS in tackling the age-long problem, describing it as a significant milestone in the industry.

MG Vowgas Group, a fast-growing Nigerian EPIC currently operating from its ultramodern fabrication complex in Port Harcourt, recently got another feather in its cap when it was issued the prized Certification of ISO 9001:2015 by Bureau Veritas Certification Holdings SAS-UK with the following scope: Engineering, Procurement, Construction (Fabrication) and Installation, in recognition of its adherence to Total Quality Management System, which conforms with acceptable international standard.

According to the Vowgas chief, the content and terms of the SLA would ensure the boost of Investors’ confidence in the Oil and Gas market which will usher-in new players.

“In the same vein, it will reduce risk as banks can freely support oil and gas investment because of quicker ROI (return of Investment), just as it is bound to remarkably reduce the cost of projects,” Izomor said, adding further that the new agreement will “significantly improve the Nigerian Content in line with the NOGICD Act, as it will terminate the unnecessary bureaucracy experienced in the oil and gas industry
