Kalu Pays Condolence to Former President Bush

Former Governor of Abia State,

Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, will tomorrow visit Houston to condole the former President of the United States, Mr. George H. W. Bush, on the demise of his wife, Barbara, the former first lady and the mother of the former President George W. Bush, who passed away in Houston on April 17 at age 92.

Speaking from Washington DC after a visit to his mother, Mrs. Eunice Uzor Kalu, the international businessman disclosed his relationship with the Bush family dates decades ago and expressed appreciation for the way Mrs. Bush and her husband had encouraged him over the years.

He said for Mrs. Bush to have lived for 92 years is simply admirable adding that she lived a meaningful life.
Meanwhile, the former governor has reacted to the disagreements in the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the outcome of the recently concluded APC congress.

He frowned at those trying to disrupt internal democratic process in the party adding that fractionalisation of the party is an unnecessary display of power and arrogance.
He explained that congress is only a micro part of the entire system and added that exhibiting actions that could cause tensions is not healthy for the party.

He charged all camps to close ranks towards the greater success of the party adding that democracy must prevail for the progress of the entire nation.

On the recent controversial video on the social media where the former governor was shown to have made an offensive statement about his actions in his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he reiterated that he never made such a statement.

He, however, cautioned against irresponsible use of social media adding that people should desist from destructive online behavior. “Social media users should refrain from commenting and posting doctored videos that cannot be verified. People should learn how to engage in positive online use and stop propagating fake news,” Kalu said.
