Obasanjo’s Wonder

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo means many things to many people.

While some see him as a restless soul, others see the 81-year-old simply as humorous and witty. Indeed, many are wont to say that he likes to spring surprises, especially as his actions and inactions often become major news items in the media.
Obasanjo, once again, may have given Nigerians reason to make him the subject of discussion, if the news reaching Spy Glass is anything to go by. How?

Spy Glass gathered that he has turned his billion naira Abeokuta presidential Hilltop residence into a hotel. It was further hinted that his personal bedroom goes for N100, 000.
Since this decision was reportedly taken a few weeks ago, not a few “big boys” have besieged the place now renamed Green Legacy to have a taste of it. Many have gone to the place to take pictures, telling the world how they spent the night at Obasanjo’s bedroom.
Our source also revealed that the ex-military head of state has relocated to a penthouse built for him years back at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL, which is a few minutes’ drive from the former house.

The library, which was built in 2005, was fashioned after the United States’ Presidential Library system and culture.
As the first in Africa, the Library is expected to promote Nigeria on the world stage and inspire other African nations in the advancement of democracy and preservation of the past for the future.

The complex also houses The Green Legacy Resort, which is said to have over 100 rooms with facilities such as elevated swimming pools (main and children pool), a tennis court, a modern well-designed gym, amusement park and sauna, among other facilities.
