Osinbajo, Enelamah, Others for RMB Nigeria Business Conference

Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) Nigeria has concluded plan to organise a business conference as part of activities to mark its fifth-year anniversary celebrations.

The keynote speakers at the event which holds next week Thursday are Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Okey Enelamah.

The theme of the conference is: “Connecting the Building Blocks to Drive Inclusive and Sustainable Growth: Investment and Economic Diversification.”

RMB Nigeria is a subsidiary of FirstRand, one of the largest financial services groups in Africa.

A statement from the bank explained that the downturn in oil price over the past five years, coupled with changing global trade policies and the emergence of alternative regional economic destinations, once again highlighted the need for the Nigerian economy to diversify beyond the production of oil.

Therefore, the conference, according to the organisers aims to engage industry participants (investors, corporates and policymakers) in a dialogue on the principal building blocks which drive investment and economic growth in Nigeria, as well as discuss lessons learnt by experienced captains of industry, which have influenced investment and economic diversification in the country.

There will be two panel sessions at the event. While the first panel session has the theme: “Attracting Investments for Inclusive & Sustainable Growth,” the theme of the second panel session is: “Private Sector Resilience through Economic Cycles.”

The CEO, RMB Nigeria, Mr. Michael Larbie said he was positive the conversations at the conference will stimulate the minds of the participants and stakeholders to support and drive the ongoing diversification efforts of the current administration.
