Ahead of the 2019 Ogun State governorship contest, state Chairperson of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN), Alhaja Aminat Olatunbosun, has cautioned the people of Ogun State to be wary of the antics of the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on the plot to cause confusion on account of his promise to hand over the baton to a Yewa candidate as his successor.

Speaking at the opening of Ijebu East secretariat and official declaration of 11 House of Assembly members of the UPN held at Ijebu Ode yesterday, Olatunbosun said her party has already zoned the upcoming governorship election in the state to Ogun East senatorial district.

According to her, she stated that UPN is poised to run a government that would be responsive to the need of the people where the rule of law will be promoted, youths would be given a place of pride, renewed hope and fresh ideas would be tapped, if and when elected into office.

“UPN is the alternative that will bring Nigeria back to its old glory and reckoning in the comity of nations,” said the chairperson.

Also, the National Chairman of the party, Prof Bankole Okuwa, flayed the wildly held rumour of the intra-crisis rocking the party and described such as untrue.

Okuwa promised that the UPN would uplift the state if voted into office.

However, he described the Ogun State governorship aspirant, Otunba Rotimi Paseda, as the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s reincarnate.
