Lagos State, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, has donated N50 million to support the Lagos Polo Club.
The Governor, in a letter addressed to the President of the club, Mr. Ade Laoye described Lagos Polo Club as one of the prestigious bodies that have contributed to the socio-cultural and economic development of the state.
Ambode recalled that over the years social clubs and service-based organisations have contributed to the development of the state socially and economically and that Lagos State Government values the contributions of these clubs.
“Your organisation’s activities have in no small measure complemented government’s efforts and determination to improve the general well-being of our people in all the critical sector of the state economy.
“It is on this premise, that I write to commend you for your invaluable support and also extend on behalf of the state government a grant of N50million and the gesture is in line with our policy to encourage social clubs whose activities have impacted positively on the lives of our people,” he stated.
