MRS Kids Cup 2018 Hit Crucial Stage

The annual MRS Oil Plc Under-16 Boys and Girls is in the semi final stage from today with the matches to hold at the Ojooniyun Sports Centre in Lagos.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the MRS Oil, Andrew Gbodume, explained to the media yesterday that the company just like in the past is set to treat the young lads with the best from the company to mark the annual Children’s Day next week.

The semi final matches will come up this afternoon with Pheonix FA Iganmu set to take on Golden Swam of Lagos Island while Victory Queen of Ikorodu and Yinka Babes of Isolo will play in the other semi final match at the same venue.

“When we set up this platform six years ago, it was to fulfill one of our Corporate Social Responsibility and when we look back today, we have achieved greatness in that regards the yearly display of skills from these kids whom we believe will excel and become icon in football in years to come.

“The event has taken several of them off the street and we would like to call on State government to partner us in ensuring that these lads make best use of the opportunity and shy away from moral vices,” he remarked.

In his response, the President of National Youth Soccer Association Rev. Paul Freeman, commended the sponsor for providing the platform that enables the children to play in a regular competition every year.

“It is always a worthwhile investment to enhance the development of our youths, academically, morally and physically, bearing in mind that the future of our nation rest on their shoulders. In the this regards, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc is already at the driver’s seat steering the wheel of progress,” he remarked.

He said the activities of the association in the past has produced stars like Dele Adeleye, Taye Taiwo, Obafemi Martins and lately Farouk Suleiman of FC Zamalek of Egypt.

The final of this year’s tournament will come up on Thursday next week at Campos Mini Stadium in Lagos.
