Manchester Alumni to Discuss Dynamics of Online Retailing

The Nigeria Alumni Association of the Alliance Manchester Business School in United Kingdom, which was established in Nigeria in 2010 by Nigerians who passed through the UK Business School, will on Friday discuss the ‘Dynamics of Online Retailing’ in a digital era in Lagos.

The forum, which marks the first public outing of the Manchester Business School Alumni Association, is targeted at bringing together, old students of the business school to thinker on the dynamics and benefits of online retailing.

Head, Organising Committee of the cocktail, Mr. Ayo Adegboye, said the alumni association is targeted at enhancing good corporate governance in public and private sector with best global practice, through the use of technology, which is also designed to boost its CSR initiative.
“So we strive to enhance the use of technology to drive education and businesses, as well as to enhance economic productivity,” Adegboye said.

Using technology to drive online business and remain competitive will be the focus of the forum and the likes of the Chairman of Zinox Group Mr. Leo Stan-Ekeh, which recently acquired Konga, will be delivering the keynote that will centre around online retailing. Other speakers include: the MD/CEO of Interswitch Limited, Mitchel Elegbe; MD, Visa West Africa, Kemi Ogunsanya; Group Head, Digital Banking, Providus Bank, Frank Attah, among others,” Adegboye said.

Speaking on its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative project that has gotten the nod of the council authority of Alimosho Local Government area, where the alumni association is adopting three schools for renovation and perimeter fencing, executive member of the alumni association, Lola Amos-Oluwole, said: “We are big on CSR and we have adopted schools in Alimosho Local Government Area in Lagos State, where we will be building classroom blocks and sinking boreholes for the schools, aside doing perimeter fencing for the schools. Our CSR is focussed on education, and our next phase of CSR will be on training of teachers in secondary schools across Lagos.”

According to her, “We came together as individuals from the Manchester Business School in Uk, to form the Manchester Alumni Association in Nigeria, designed to make impact on the Nigerian economy in the area of education. Our focus is to make a difference in education in Nigeria, bringing in our talents from the Manchester Business School to drive the initiative.”
