Activist Commends FG for Take-off of Maritime Varsity

A Niger Delta environmental activist, Sheriff Mulade has applauded the federal government for the successful take-off of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State.

Mulade in a press statement also commended the efforts of the state government for the actualisation of the initiative. “I want to sincerely express my appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for their tireless efforts towards the kick-off of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko. I want to equally commend other stakeholders for supporting the take-off of the university. It was not easy getting the university off the ground.

“We are assuring the federal and state governments of a conducive learning environment and the guarantee of security to staff and students of the university now that normal academic activities have kicked-off in the university.”

He appealed for special focus on the development of the Niger Delta region, particularly the riverine oil and gas host communities for them to be given a sense of belonging.
