The battle for Miss Intelligent crown will come to a climax today as Kody and The Kids hosts its 2018 edition.
Over 40 children aged between 8 and 12 years old auditioned last weekend out of which 15 were selected for the finals. The children were drilled on their eloquence, beauty, costume, intelligence, poise and confidence. Much attention was however paid to their intelligence and confidence as part of the show’s efforts to impact on their academic brilliance and intelligence.
“The pageant is more educational-driven than fashion. We are focused on developing the intellects of these kids. They should be able to speak intelligently and boldly irrespective of the setting they find themselves in. This is a pageant with a difference and the difference lies in their mental capability and cognitive skills,†said the convener, Chikodinaka Onu Etim.
The on-air personality who is popularly known as Kody on Wazobia FM introduced the pageant four years ago to complement her annual children show which features comedy, music entertainment, games, and other interesting themes.
This year, the organisers decided to increase the cash prize which was formerly N100,000. The lucky child who wears the crown today will go home with N150,000.
