The Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HoS), Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, has reached out to the multilateral and development agencies to aid the Project Management Teams (PMTs) towards implementing the 2017-2020 Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implantation Plan (FCSSIP).
She reiterated the commitment yesterday of the federal government to reposition the Federal Public Service for Improved service delivery while meeting with representatives of the development agencies.
The agencies comprise the Department for International Development (DFID), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
They will collaborate with the PMTs to enhance the quality of service delivery to Nigerians and save the projected sum of N120 billion from the pay roll system year 2020.
The eight PMTs were constituted after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) ratified the strategy last year.
The HoS said PMTs and the development partners are to set up discussions on the various plans towards the successful implementation of the eight priority initiatives of the strategy.
The outcome of the partnership between the PMTs and the multilateral agencies is between N60 billion to N120 billion to be saved from cleaning the Human Resources data on Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) and N 2.5 billion for digitising content like memos, personnel records among others.
In addition 25,000 civil servants will be trained through revamped core modules and 200 future leaders cultivated through the Leadership Enhancement and Development Programme (LEAD-P) among others.
Oyo-Ita expressed optimism that the present reform will be successful because of its features which include high impact prioritisation on initiatives; specificity with actionable and detailed Implementation plan, clear governance to drive reforms, partnership for resources to support Implementation and change management as well as communication plan.
Present at the meeting were representatives of DFID, EU, USAID, Billl and Melinda Gates Foundation and UNDP.
