Emerhor: ‘Unity List’ Made APC Congress Peaceful in Delta

The All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, has said the “unity list” which all party faithful affirmed during last Saturday chairmanship congress covers all party stakeholders interest in the state.

Emerhor who addressed journalists after the congress at the APC party secretariat in Ughelli, disclosed that having led a group of seven governorship candidates that have agreed to work together at the APC local government congress so that they don’t fight themselves, the party came up with a consensus list.

He said the exercise was just an affirmation of the consensus list after reconciling and coming up with a list that represents all interests in the party.  Emerhor noted that “the congresses, as long as they cover the interest of people, generate trust, hence the peaceful conduct of the exercise from Delta North to Delta South.”

The APC state leader further revealed that there is a group that didn’t join the unity group, but added that he did not know their motives, adding that majority always carries the day, and having been defeated at the ward level, it wouldn’t be possible to contest at the local government level.

He congratulated all party members for their peaceful conduct during the exercise which produced Chief Felix Ikure as the Chairman of the party in Ughelli North and urged them to work hard in order to deliver the party in the real election.  On his part, Executive Director of Projects, NDDC, Ajogbe, also applauded the peaceful conduct of the exercise.

He said it was a consensus list which covers all interest in the party, and their coming was just to affirm that the congress was held.
