An upcoming sensational soul lifting gospel artist and songwriter, Tayo Christian has signed a two-year contract with TW record label.
Christian, who was born in the rocky city of Jos, the Plateau State Capital, while signing the dotted lines recently in Abuja, urged the Federal Government to come to the aid of young Nigerians in whatever field of endeavours they found themselves.
According to him, government can do a lot more to promote the music industry in the country, because music is global and phenomenal and good songs have far reaching solutions to some salient problems.
The young gospel artist while calling on the government to create an enabling environment for the indigenous music to thrive, charged it to set up mechanism to curtail piracy, which he said is a cog on the wheel of progress.
He said, “Government can create an enabling environment for music industry and Nigerian music is widely accepted and gospel music is the forefront. Other countries now want to do it the Nigerian way and a lot of gospel artistes have done this country proud at the international stage.
Speaking further, he maintained that, music; be it gospel or otherwise, has been a major contributor to the economy growth of the country. The music industry, gospel inclusive has contributed immensely to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). So, it will be of great deal if the government can take the issue of piracy serious which is denying artist their success.â€
Christian, motivated by his passion for gospel music which he started from his secondary school days has his first single already and he’s set to release another hit single which he did in collaboration with the Gospel Legend, Samsung.
Responding, the Record Label, TW Records, owned by Mrs. Faridah Wada, promised to help the young artist to reach a great height in his musical career. She added that, “with the state-of-the-art facilities, Christian will be rolling out quality songs for the Nigerian nation and the world in general.â€
