Former governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has described the ruling All Progressives Congress as a party of deceit, lies and people who were unprepared for governance.

Lamido, who is a Presidential Aspirant of the PDP in the 2019 general elections, stated this at a reception held in honour of the Deputy National Chairman of the party, Senator Babayo Gamawa yesterday at the Multi-Purpose Indoor Sports Hall, Bauchi.

He stated that hunger and poverty has increased in the last three years that the APC has been in power.

According to him, “During the PDP’s regime, there was work and no hunger, there was peace. Buhari said the PDP are thieves, he said we in PDP are Boko Haram, he said in 16 years, PDP did nothing, they said we are a disaster and they voted us out of power and he (Buhari) took over power. Is there no hunger now? Is there no more Boko Haram? It is now left for you to compare and contrast.

He added that “We were in power for 16 years; APC came into power and have done nothing but are enjoying what the PDP did. PDP built the EFCC Headquarters and they are claiming that they built it. They can only claim it because they came unprepared.” He urged the party members to preach peace wherever they are.

In his speech, the celebrant, Senator Gamawa, stated that the PDP while in power did all it could to ameliorate the sufferings of the masses and improve their standards of living.

“When we were in power, there was no poverty in the land, the standard of living was low, people built houses, bought cars, going for pilgrimages but the case is different now,” he stated.

The National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, represented by the National Vice Chairman 1, Elder Yemi Akinwunmi, in an address said there would be no more imposition of candidates, no thuggery, no manipulation but only popular candidates will be elected as flag-bearers urging aspirants to shun violence in their campaigns.

He described the Deputy National Chairman as a honest, dependable and reliable person.
