PAN Nigeria Takes Fight of Fake Parts to 13th Lagos Motor Fair/ 7th Auto Parts Expo

Automotive industry observers describe the ongoing 13th Lagos Motor Fair/7th Auto parts Expo at Federal Palace Hotel Victoria Island Lagos as Nigerian automotive industry biggest event of the year. With far more local, foreign assemblers and equipment manufacturers participating in this year’s event, there is a tinge of excitement that the recovery trend of the automotive industry can be sustained.

The motor fair provided PAN Nigeria Limited, the indigenous assemblers of Peugeot brand of vehicles the right platform for its advocacy against fake and substandard spare parts. In his statement, made available by Haroun Malami, Head, Corporate Communications, MD/CEO Ibrahim Boyi, called on automobile industry players to act as collaborators not competitors to fight this menace of fake, substandard and “Tokumbo” parts that are causing avoidable deaths on our roads.

PAN’s exhibition stands featured a proud range of Peugeot vehicles including PARTNER TEEPE utility vehicle, Peugeot 301 that won the Nigerian Auto journalist awards of Nigerian Car of the Year ( COTY) two years in a row 2016 and 2017 and the International multi award winning Peugeot 3008 SUV, backed by an arsenal of Peugeot spare parts.

Collaboration drives standardisation of trade practices that will translate to low cost of vehicle ownership to Nigerians, Boyi, said. The Lagos motor fair is coming at the heels of PAN’s maiden spare parts fair which ended in Kaduna a fortnight ago. PAN has been assembling Peugeot vehicles in Nigeria since 1975.
