A governorship aspirant in Bauchi State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Captain Bala Jibrin, has alleged that the Appeal Committee sent by the party’s national headquarters to receive complaints on the outcome of the recent wards congresses in the state has gone into hiding.

Addressing journalists yesterday at the NUJ Press Centre, Bauchi, Jibrin said the committee which was deployed to the state since Monday, had allegedly refused to avail themselves to party stalwarts and their whereabouts were yet to be known in the state.

“The committee has been compromised by the government of Bauchi State. They are doing the bidding of the state governor. There was no justice and fairness in the congresses held. We have cases where policemen were used to scare away people on Saturday by shooting in the air in some local governments,” he alleged.

The governorship hopeful appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari who is the number one leader of the party to intervene in the matter in order to avoid internal crises capable of stabilising it ahead of 2019.

“APC is our party, nobody should push us out. Rule of law and internal democracy should thrive in the party.”
Jibrin also berated the present administration in the state led by Governor Mohammed Abubakar for its alleged poor performance, decrying that no tangible projects was executed by the government in the last three years.
