By Emmanuel Ukumba in Lafia
A retired federal permanent secretary, Dauda Shuaibu Kigbu, has declared his intention to contest for the Nasarawa State governorship race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kigbu, who had worked as permanent secretary in the federal ministries of youth development; industry, trade and investment; mines and steel development; works, and the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, declared for the governorship race Wednesday in Lafia.
When addressing a mammoth crowd that turned out to witness his declaration, the retired federal permanent secretary said his mission to govern the state was borne out of his desire to create an environment that would enable all ethnic groups to live in an
atmosphere of peace and harmony with equal opportunities for the development of Nasarawa State.
According to him, “In order to achieve this, a frame work will be put in place that will eliminate and breakdown boundaries and barriers that have been built along lines of ethnicity and religious bigotry in order to create an all-inclusive government.”
He said that his coming into the governorship race of the state was backed up with a lot of experience, exposure, knowledge, preparation and patriotism to be gathered to serve and contribute to the on-going efforts to make a collective dream of developing the
state.
Kigbu concluded by promising to serve the people of the state with all sense of responsibility, humility, transparency and dedication, if given the mandate to govern the state by 2019.
