Kano is Safe for All, Says Ganduje

The Governor of Kano State Abdullahi Ganduje has said that the coming of the crowd pulling General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, to the ancient city of Kano for open religious meeting is a practical indication of a good relationship existing among religious and ethnic groups in the state.

He made the statement while welcoming Pastor Muoka who led the church delegation to pay a courtesy visit to his office as a prelude to the international crusade of the church held during the weekend at Kano Pillars Stadium, Sabon-Gari, Kano.

Speaking further, Ganduje said that the rapport his administration fashioned among religious organisations and ethnic groups in the state is the reason for the peaceful co-existence being witnessed in the state.

Commending the man of God for his wisdom and courage to bring the good news of his ministry to Kano State, Ganduje affirmed that the revival message preached by Muoka will help to sustain the already existing peace in the state as that will strengthen tolerance and understanding among the residents irrespective of tribes and religion.

“Anyone who has not been to Kano will not believe that we are living peacefully with different ethnic and religious groups. If we are not peaceful here, the crusade would not have been successful”, he said.

The governor called on Muoka to continue on the peace messages he is spreading worldwide and expressed optimism that after the crusade peace will be more felt in the state.

“The crusade is a good one and we hope that it will bring more peace to the state,” Ganduje said.

In his remarks, one of the special guests that attended the programme, the Eze Ndigbo in diaspora, Igwe Boniface Ibekwe, said that the programme which witnessed an unprecedented crowd as never seen in any religious campaign in Kano was by all standard successful.

Ibekwe said that since the administration of Ganduje, there has not been a religious or ethnic crisis in Kano State.

“We are happy that Kano has been peaceful and we want it to continue to be like that,” he said.

He also expressed happiness that after the crusade, the deserved peace in Kano State will be sustained.

“We hope that the crusade will not only sustain the relative peace, love and progress in the state but will bring peace in Nigeria in general,” he said.

Earlier, Muoka explained that his visit to Ganduje was aimed at identifying with him on the peace that exists between the Christians, Muslims and all ethnic groups in the state.

Muoka, who expressed satisfaction with the relative peace and love he witnessed throughout the crusade, pointed out that unlike other states in the north where there are crisis, Kano State is calm and peaceful.

“Obviously, the peaceful coexistence in Kano State is in no doubt the handiwork of the governor, thus he deserves commendation. He refused to give crisis a chance and that is what a good leader should be,”Mouka said.

He also commended Ganduje for his developmental strides in the state and advised him not to relent.

“From what I am seeing on ground, it shows that the governor is doing well. So, he should keep it up,” he said.
