Learning from how the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary was botched  by irate party members, there was massive security beef  up around the arena where the Peoples Democratic  Party is holding its governorship primary in Ekiti State today.

Security agencies, comprising the police,  men of the Department of State Services (DSS) and  Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)  have taken over the expansive  Uncle Eagle Event Centre located along Ado-Ikere road, where the event is scheduled to hold.

Accreditation of  the 2,092 delegates who are eligible to participate in today’s election has begun.

It was a little bit delayed owing to early morning downpour in Ado Ekiti and surrounding towns.

The Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, is the Chairman of the PDP governorship primary in Ekiti State.

Contestants that will slug it out include Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof Kolapo Olusola; former Minister, Prince Dayo Adeyeye; and Senate Deputy Minority Whip, Senator Biodun Olujimi.

Fayose has endorsed his deputy and  has deployed his structures all over the 177 wards to ensure that Olusola’s candidacy is actualised.
