Wamakko Restores Electricity to Four LGs

The senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District and Chairman, Northern Senators Forum, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, has commenced the restoration of electricity to Gudu, Silame, Binji and Tangaza Local Government Areas of Sokoto State.
Wamakko disclosed this on Monday when he received hundreds of residents from 20 communities in Gumbi District of Wamakko Local Government Area of the state who were on a thank-you visit to him, following his recent gesture of restoring electricity to them.
He said the electricity supply lines, which became faulty two years ago, had not been repaired hence, the residents of the four local governments were thrown into endemic darkness.
Wamakko reiterated his resolve to continue to assist in further uplifting the living standards of the entire people of the state.
The lawmaker maintained that doing so was in appreciation of the undying love, support and goodwill towards him by the people of the state.
“I am really overwhelmed by the support you have given me over the years and the best way to reciprocate is to give back to the society,” he added.
The Chairman of Wamakko Local Government, Alhaji Bello Buba Kaurar Kimba, and the District Head of Wajakke, Alhaji Muhammadu Mailato Gumbi, commended Wamakko for the gesture.
They maintained that the restoration of electricity to the communities had  reinvigorated their hitherto battered socio-economic lives.
Meanwhile, Wamakko has donated N 5 million to Nufawa, Tsamiyar Dila, Rumbu and other adjoining communities in Sokoto North Local Government of Sokoto State for the completion of the repairs of drainages they embarked upon through communal efforts.
Wamakko, who made the donation when he inspected the repair works on Sunday, said the gesture was to enable the communities complete the project, with a view to averting flood and other related ecological problems.
