The programme focused primarily on screening and treatment for high blood pressure, malaria, diabetes, body mass index screening, vitamin deficiencies treatment, breast examination and de-worming were carried out. Subsequently free preventive and curative drugs were given to the beneficiaries; it also focused on creating awareness on the benefits of proper hygiene and the need for the beneficiaries to know their medical numbers.

The Programme Officer (Health), Mrs. Amala Ohaji said that the programme was organised in view of achieving the third goal from the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) which was initiated to ensure healthy lives and promote the well-being for all ages. She also added that healthy living shifts the focus from cure to prevention through sensitisation on the importance of good hygiene and routine medical check-up.

Over 240 patients drawn from the Alamala and neighbouring communities were attended to. The outreach was sponsored by JB Pharmaceuticals Limited, Medvacc Pharmaceuticals Limited. Nalis Pharmaceuticals Limited, Pathcare Nigeria (member of SYNLAB) and other well-meaning individuals.
