Diamond Bank Begins Empowerment Drive for SMEs

One of Nigeria’s leading retail banking institutions, Diamond Bank Plc has initiated a business empowerment drive for Medium,   Small and Micro Enterprises (NSMEs).
Part of the empowerment is through MSMEs seminars which are designed to shape and broaden the business acumen of entrepreneurs towards growth trajectory.
Speaking at the maiden MSMEs workshop in Abuja tagged “Going from Good to Great,” the Acting Head, Regional Businesses, North Directorate, Mr. Sufiyanu Garba said

it was packaged commemoration of the month of March designated to celebrate women.
Garba noted that women are very important for the development of the world, adding that “at Diamond Bank, we are very supportive of women and this initiative is one of such ways to show this support.”
According to him, the aim of the workshop was to support women who are in business, noting that the bank hopes “to inculcate that business idea to women, which is also why we chose the theme of the workshop as ‘good to great’.
“We have had success stories from women in the past who started virtually from nothing, who are today talking of turnovers running into hundreds of million. We have also brought some of them here to share their success stories and challenges as well for women into MSMEs and intending ones can leverage on.

“Diamond Bank is a retail bank with strong support for MSME, our customers are very important to us. This seminar is part of what we do to encourage them in businesses. if they have good business and bankable ideas, they can come to us, we look at it and if it’s okay, we give them loan for such businesses,” Garba said.
