Emerhor: Buhari is Committed to Turning Nigeria into a Medical Tourist Destination

The Chairman of the management Board of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari’s marching order to the Ministry of Health and by derivation, the UITH is to work committedly to transform the institution into a first class teaching hospital that can complete with the very best anywhere in the world.

Emerhor asserted further that this is in line with President Buhari’s vision and commitment to transform Nigeria into a medical tourism destination.

He stated this when he led the board members of UITH on a courtesy visit to the the governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdufattah Ahmed at the Government House, Ilorin.

Emerhor appreciated and congratulated the governor for his visible and giant development achievements in Kwara State and sought his continuing support as a critical stakeholder of the hospital in the commitment of the new board to upgrade and transform the teaching hospital.

Responding, Governor Ahmed congratulated Emerhor for his appointment and prayed that the Chairman will bring his rich private sector experience to bear in his assignment and assured the new board of the continuing partnership of the state government with the UITH in its quest to continually raise the standard of healthcare delivery in Kwara State.

Emerhor who was accompanied by the Acting Chief Medical Director, Prof Yinka Buhari and other board members had earlier in the day, paid similar courtesy calls on the Emir of Ilorin and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin.
