Three Killed, 10 Injured in Multiple Ogun Road Mishap

At least there persons died on Tuesday morning in a multiple road accident along Ijebu Ode-Ore expressway, while 10 sustained injuries.

It was gathered that the accident which occurred within the Odogbolu axis of the expressway, involved a bus on the fleet of “God is Good” Motors marked AYJ 836 SK and a Mercedes Benz (Mac) truck with registration number. SKB 44 AA, claiming the lives of a female and two male passengers.

It was learnt that, in an attempt by the driver of the ill-fated bus that was sandwiched in-between two trucks, in a bid to overtake them, it had a side collision with the Mac truck on the left hand side before it veered off the road and collided with the second truck, according to the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi.

Besides, the Sector Commander, Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Clement Oladele, who confirmed the accident, attributed the cause to wrongful overtaking, over-speeding and loss of control.
Oladele added that the corpses of the passengers had been deposited at the morgue of the State Hospital, Ijebu Ode, while the injured had been taken to Ro’One Hospital, also in Ijebu Ode for treatment.
