Akeredolu’s Venom

If you are one of those who believe that the crisis between the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, and the All Progressives Congress chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has ended, you better have a rethink!

It appears the lawyer-turned politician has not forgiven Tinubu for his alleged role to make his dream of becoming the number one citizen in the state an impossible task.
Though both men have met and discussed at different fora after the election, sources revealed that Akeredolu has not forgotten the ugly development.

It was gathered that since the election, Akeredolu has been tactically distancing himself from Asiwaju, particularly when the matter concerns Ondo State politics.
While reacting to president Muhammadu Buhari’s assignment given to Tinubu to re-unite dissenting voices in the ruling APC, Akeredolu was quoted as saying that, “APC is solid here. We do not need a peacemaker here because we are at peace. We don’t want external influence that can lead to any problem. We need a peacemaker in places where there are palpable crises. We are at peace here. Ondo is a peaceful state.”

This, a source informed Spy glass, was a veiled attack on Tinubu or a hard knock on him and his peace-making efforts.
“Asiwaju never likes to be termed a failure. But the way and manner the task is being treated among his party men, he is afraid he is going to fail,’’ a source confirmed.
Tinubu is tasked with reconciling all warring parties within the ruling party nationwide. The development has pitched him against the party Chairman, John Odigie Oyegun, whom Tinubu accused of sabotaging his efforts.
