General Agwai Becomes New Council Chairman of Bingham Varsity

Authorities of the Bingham University, Karu yesterday inaugurated a new Governing Council for the institution, with General Martin Luther Agwai assuming the position of the Chairman of the council.

President of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Jeremiah Gado, while speaking at the inauguration, said that “ECWA is committed to making Bingham University the mount everest of Universities.”
He added that “Bingham University was established to be the University with a difference; a university that will produce men and women who are creators of employment and not job seekers.” And that “even though the journey had been rough, the hand of God still remains with Bingham University.”

He also said that despite the challenges faced, the university was poised to be the cradle of universities.
Gado added that the setting up of a new Governing Council was informed by the recommendations of the Visitation Panel which was approved by the university’s Board of Trustees and the ECWA Executive.

Others members of the new council are; Prof William Qurix (Acting Vice –Chancellor), Prof Alexander B. Adelaiye – (Deputy Vice- Chancellor), Prof. Saliba Jame s, Mr. Everett Vocature, Mr. M oses Kolawole, Surv.Ekewelem Okechukwu, and Prof.Tanimola Akan de.
Rev. Dr.Ayuba S. Bako, Rev. Dr. Jo seph T. Dyaji, Barr. Deborah Usman, Dr. Musa Dankyau and Prof. Dul Johnson are also members of the council.

Prof. Saliba James, while responding on behalf of the Chairman, appreciated the ECWA Executive for finding them worthy to serve as Governing Council members. He charged the new council members to work as a team.
The Chairman called on the Proprietor to recognise the peculiarity of the university system by providing adequate resources for the development of the institution.

On his part, the acting Vice- Chancellor Prof. William Qurix, appreciated the ECWA President for the inauguration of the council, a body he acknowledged was crucial for the smooth running of the university.
