Buhari, Saraki, Adebanjo, Others Extol Oba Tejuoso at 80

President Mohammadu Buhari,  Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and Afenifere chieftain, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, among other eminent Nigerians, yesterday eulogised the Osile Oke Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, as he clocked 80 years.
They all extolled the sterling qualities of the Egba monarch at the lavish reception held in his honour inside the expansive marquee of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Complex, Abeokuta.
They appreciated his invaluable contributions to the growth and development of his people in Oke Ona, Abeokuta, Ogun State and the country at large.

Besides, they also extolled his sterling qualities as a man who has dedicated his life to Christ, and one who spared a thought for the less-privileged and downtrodden in the society through his philanthropic gestures.
President Buhari in his congratulatory letter which was read at the venue by his Special Adviser, National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang, noted Oba Tejuoso’s contribution to the development of the country through his interventions during the  Constitutional Conference of 1994.
The presidential aide also commended the monarch for the development he has brought to bear on his people at Oke Ona, praying for more wisdom from God to enable him to continue to help his people.


He said: “Your contributions to the development of Nigeria, starting from your constituency is well recognised. We still recognised your valuable interventions during the Constitutional  Conference of 1994.
”My prayer is that God will continue to give you wisdom to continue to contribute to the development of the country.”
In his own message, the Senate President,  Saraki, also said he rejoiced with the monarch and his family and prayed the Almighty God to continue to guide him.
On his own part, Afenifere chieftain, Chief Adebanjo, described the monarch as a “dependable and well-mannered person.”
One of his children, Senator Lanre Tejuoso, said his father had been a good example to the children.

He extolled him for his new found love in Jesus Christ, adding that “he is trying his best to emulate Jesus Christ.”
”His mother built a good name in Nigeria, he is trying to ensure we also transmit that to our children. He has dedicated the rest of his life to serving Christ.”
Also, the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Alaba Lawson, described Oba Tejuoso as a “very peaceful man, what he believes in, he stands by it. A philantropist who looks after the down- trodden. I wish him many more fruitful years.”
Eleganza boss, Chief Razak Okoya, described the monarch as a good in- law to him, and wished him long life.
Earlier in the day, inside the Cinema hall of OOPL, where the thanksgiving service held, the Founder of the Latter Rain Assembly, Ogba, Lagos, Pastor Tunde Bakare, who preached the sermon, called on people to emulate the monarch, who despite his position,  gave his life to serving God.
Dignitaries at the event include Ogun State Deputy Governor, Mrs Yetunde Onanuga, who represented the Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Publisher Ovation Magazine, Chief Dele Momodu, Senator Dino Melaye, Senator Demola Seriki, and former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, among others.
