T he appointment of the former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to head the Reconciliation Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by President Mohammadu Buhari has been applauded by the President of the Association of Good Leadership Advocates Peace Development Lagos, Prince Olusegun Ologbese,
Describing it as a welcome development, Ologbese who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Ogbese Maritime Services Limited stated that the move will ensure that peace is restored in the ruling party.
He prayed that God in His infinity mercy will allow Buhari to listen to the voice of the party faithful since there was a big gap created by enemies of the president within and outside the party.
According to him, some party faithful believes that the problems in Buhari’s administration are caused by Tinubu.
He stated that the association which was an off-shoot of the Concerned People of Lagos State was vindicated by the appointment of Tinubu as it had earlier enjoined Buhari to give the reconciliation of the party the seriousness it deserved.
He said: “When we saw this evil mechanism to divide Buhari and Tinubu in order to bring the APC administration down, we did not hide it from Buhari’s aides, especially the Special Adviser to the President on Media, Mr. Femi Adesina. We called him severally to use all within his reach to make sure that wicked people did not divide Buhari and Tinubu since it will have negative consequences. Whether Adesina delivered the message or not is not important. What is vital is that we did what we ought to do at the time by drawing the attention of Mr. President to itâ€.
Ologbese noted that he and other members of the association knows President Buhari for a very long time now, adding that it was the reason they maintained that he needed a very vital and experience somebody like Tinubu by his side always.
According to him, Tinubu has the capacity and wisdom to harmonize the interest of the contending interests in the party so that Buhari can concentrate on good governance without fear or favour. This is what the enemies of Mr. President discovered and made them to bring a wedge between them shortly after the inauguration of the administration on May 29, 2015. The wedge resulted in a disconnection between Buhari and the people that supported him to be in power.
Continuing, Ologbese said: “We thank God for his mercy to personally entered into Buhari heart to allow Bola Ahmed Tinubu to do the rescuing mission because the enemies have already handed over the instrument of destruction to the APC. They were only marking time for the final destruction of the party.
He enjoined Nigerians to be patient a little by joining President Buhari to actualize his aims and objectives of making Nigeria great again.
