MOMTAN Insists Association Has No Two Executives as Expelled Members Formed Parallel Excos

Following the inauguration of a parallel executive last week Wednesday in Abuja by the suspended members of the Motomechs and Technicians Association of Nigeria (MOMTAN), the National President of the association, Mr. Oseni Suleiman and the National Secretary, Prince Adedeji Oloyede have insisted that the association has no two executives.

The national president, while addressing a press conference yesterday in Abuja, said it had become imperative he address the lingering issue so that MOMTAN members throughout Nigeria, and indeed the public would not be misled by the ‘fake executive’.

According to him, “MOMTAN has no two national executives. We have only one national executive that is led by Oseni Suleiman and the National Secretary, Prince Adedeji Oloyede and others. We are 17 in number that governs the whole country as the MOMTAN association is concerned.”
Suleiman lamented: “It is pathetic to note that just on February 7, 2018, some persons within our members said they have out up a parallel national executive; very few of them and then they are now calling them separate executive that is different from ours. That is not constitutional and at the same time this is where crisis starts, before you know it will explode and become something that the nation has to manage. MOMTAN should not start their own again, we already have enough to handle as far as crisis is concerned in this country.

“Persons that are perpetuating this are suspended members of the association since April last year. In fact they have been recently expelled from the association, we have taken their names down,” Suleiman noted.

He explained that the members were expelled for fraud , dishonesty and indiscipline.
The national president stressed that the expelled member include; Joseph Adebayo Omotosho, Morufu Arowolo, Clement Olaoye, Ismaila Alani, Segun Taiwo, Siji Aboaba among others.
He however said the association is committed to assisting the local, state and federal governments in policies aimed at advancing technology and output in the area of production, services and repairs in the auto mechanics and allied technology engineering industry.
As at the time of filing this report, calls and message put across to Omotosho, the supposed leader of the exco were unanswered.
