A group tagged: ‘Concerned Indigenes of Kaduna Central senatorial district,’ has threatened to initiate the recall of Senator Shehu Sani for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir el-Rufai.

Sani who represents the Kaduna central senatorial district in the National Assembly, belongs to the state faction of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Addressing a press conference yesterday in Kaduna, the group said Sani’s virulent attacks on Buhari and el-Rufai was unbecoming.

Spokesman of the group, Aliyu Saidu, said instead of Sani to invest his legislative resources towards uplifting the conditions of his constituents, he has become “the foster boy of President Buhari’s enemies, always amplifying the challenges we are facing while ignoring the many progress the administration is making in order to portray the government as incompetent and clueless.”.

“We hereby inform the world that we shall be exercising our available constitutional options by initiating a recall process against Sani,” the group declared.
Saidu also declared that the APC reconciliation committee headed by Senator Bola Tinubu was a waste of time as elections are approaching.

“We cannot wait for any committee of reconciliation, time is moving, by the report of the committee submits is ready, elections would have been around the corner,” he said.
The group condemned Sani’s alleged diatribe and antagonism towards el-Rufai, saying the governor had maintained “stoic silence, never allowing himself to be distracted.”

Saidu maintained that “by working against the president and identifying with the enemies of the Buhari administration, Sani has not only betrayed his constituents, he has declared war on them, because we the people of Kaduna Central unanimously support President Buhari in his effort to fix the economy and rid Nigeria of corruption and insecurity.
He said Sani was sent to the senate to work towards the success of the Buhari government and not work in direct opposition to it.

“By his actions, the senator has caused more damage to the president and our great party and his actions have harmed our collective interest as a senatorial district.
“It is regrettable that the party has failed to call Senator Shehu Sani to order for his open belligerence against the government and our great party.

“No individual, no matter how highly positioned is above the party. We therefore call on the party to initiate disciplinary action against the senator because allowing this to go unpunished will only embolden other rebels…” the group said.

However, in a swift reaction, the Special Adviser to Senator Sani on Politics and Ideology, Suleiman Ahmed, described the group as fake, saying that for years, el-Rufai has been using this sorts of fake groups to fight his cause and all have failed.
Ahmed, in a statement declared that “this amorphous and fake groups are nothing but Governor Nasiru El-Rufai’s errand boys doing his bidding in the hope that it will buy him peace of mind”.

“They sponsored goons, rabble rousers and el-Rufai’s foot soldiers set to distract the senator and make noise.
“El-Rufai is afraid of Sani in the upcoming 2019 election and is now resorting to recall through his boys,” he said.

According to him, “For close to three years el-Rufai has been using this sorts of fake groups to fight his cause and all have failed.
“El-Rufai has created jobs among youths in thuggery and fake press conferences.
“What were they doing to think of recall in less than a year to general elections. Where have they been since?”
