Captain Okunbo at Sixty Pro-am Golf Tourney Tees-off on Monday

Preparation for the long awaited Captain Hosa Okunbo at Sixty Pro-Am invitation golf tournament scheduled for Benin Club course, GRA, Benin City has reached an advanced stage.

The money-spinning golf tournament is being organised by Benin Club Golf Section in honour of the strong supporter of the golf section, a philanthropist and patron of the Benin Club will tee-off on February 12th – 17th, at the club and will feature top golfers invited from various golf clubs across the 36 states and Abuja for the six days golfing events.
According to the chief host of the tournament, Kingsley Okunbo during a media briefing to herald the tournament held at the golf section on Tuesday, invitations had been sent to top and active golfers that would be coming from several golf clubs across the country for the event.
Okunbo revealed that part of the activities outlined for the week-long event was a lecture series titled “Youth migration: Present realities and its consequences” University of Benin main auditorium, Ugbowo Campus.

Okunbo noted that various categories of events had been outlined for contention as the professional golfers are expected to add glamour for the event. He added that a huge sum, ranging in several millions in the history of professional golf tournament inNigeria had been set aside as prize money for the professionals to contest for at the tournament.
Speaking further, Okunbo, the former captain of the club remarked that
day one event would tee-off with the caddy category on Monday through Tuesday while the professionals tournament would take centre stage from Wednesday to Saturday for their final match.

Also, on Friday, the men handicap 18-28, men super veterans, men and ladies veterans as
well as ladies handicap 29-36 would have their field day that will determine the winners in these categories.
