Police Parade Nine Suspected Kidnappers in Ondo

The Nigeria Police, Ondo State Command wednesday paraded seven suspected kidnappers that were arrested at a location inside a vehicle in Owo.

The command also paraded two men that were alleged to be involved in series of stolen property.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Femi Joseph, who spoke with journalists on the arrest of the suspects at the police command headquarters located on Igbatoro Road, Akure.

Joseph said the suspected kidnappers were arrested on January 28 by men of the command on patrol.
He disclosed that the suspects, who were inside a vehicle, were arrested with many locally made guns, cutlasses, bow and arrow and charms.

The PPRO said the police were not satisfied with the claim of the suspects who said they were hunters from North on hunting expedition to the Southern part of the country.
“The command had begun investigation to ascertain the claim of the claimants because the command was not convinced of their claims,” Joseph stated.

The PPRO Sunday Fatoki and Adamu Mohammed were serial receivers of stolen property especially stolen vehicles.
Joseph said luck however, ran against the suspects recently when they received a stole Toyota Camry.
He said while Sunday was arrested at Ibadan, Adamu was arrested in Kaduna.

He said the police have arrested those who stole some of the vehicles linked with them.
The PPRO also disclosed that the police have rescued three kidnap victims from a bush on the Ore-Benin Expressway.
He said the police were on the trail of their abductors who fled when they noticed that the police were approaching the scene.
