A part of the office of the Niger State Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has been gutted by fire.
The fire outbreak, which occurred Monday evening, resulted in the total destruction of the computer room, office of the head of service in the accountant’s office and the office of head of gas as well as the organisation’s inverters.
Sensitive documents especially those pertaining to the application for licences, internet facilities, inverters as well as  the office furniture were completely burnt.
The fire was believed to have been caused by what was described “as suspected partial electrical contact”.
A vulcaniser not too far from the DPR office was said to have first noticed smoke from one of the air conditioners making him to raise the alarm.
