Nigerian football icon Stephen “Big Boss” Keshi is being honoured by Google on what would have been his 56th birthday.
The search engine changed its logo in Nigeria on Tuesday to an illustration of the legendary sports star.
Keshi was one of only two men to win the Africa Cup of Nations as both a player and coach.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) observed a one-minute silence in honour of the late Nigeria captain and coach with First Vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi noting that it was regrettable “such a great player and coach was never accorded deserved recognition at an awards ceremony organised by the NFF.”
The later part of Keshi’s career was turbulent after quitting over unpaid wages and later being sacked.
