Grand Oak Limited, a marketing and distribution company in the wines and spirits sector and a subsidiary of the Lexcel Group, has launched its new brand of liquor, 9ja Café Rhum in Osogbo, saying the product is youth centric.

Speaking at the recent unveiling of the brand at Aurora Event Centre in Osogbo, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Kayode Ayeni described the new brand youth friendly saying that the rum targets youth market.

He said, “The brand is a fine blend of coffee and rum. We discovered that mixture of drinks like cocktail and others is becoming a trend now among youths, so we decided to launch this brand which is a perfect blend of coffee and alcohol. The coffee aroma is very strong and we are targeting the youth market. 9ja cafe rhum is youth-centric and Osogbo is a key market.”

Also speaking, the National Sales Manager of the beverage company, Mr. Gibson Akiojano explained that the brand would encourage Nigerians to indulge their passion for the things they enjoy, do great things and rediscover who they truly are among other nations.

Akiojano said the rum would enrich distributors and sellers within a short time saying “the product is a very fantastic product and is one of the best in Nigeria right now.”

He said, “9ja Cafe Rhum is a rum crafted for the Nigerian people. We are proud Nigerians and we respect Nigeria. Anywhere you go to, in this country and outside, people respect Nigeria and we know whatever is coming out of Nigeria, people want to see and want to have a taste of. We have done so many indepth researches and got some supplements before producing this brand here in Nigeria.”

The sales manager, who claimed that the brand has no negative effect to consumers’ health, revealed that “before we produced the rum, we embarked on several researches, it undergone regulations and scrutiny, the NAFDAC tested it and confirmed the brand is very good for the health. It has nothing to do with the physiological workings of the body.

“The price of this particular brand is very competitive and pocket-friendly for our distributors, marketers and consumers. Sellers of this product will also make good profits from it.”

On why the Grand Oak Limited, a leading marketer of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in Nigeria chose Osogbo as the first point of call for the unveiling of the product, Akiojano said Osogbo is a big market for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage business and that the town is more centralised to the Western region.

“That is the reason why we have chosen Osogbo. We have a very strong affinity with the people of Osogbo in terms of celebrations and festivals. That is why we I’ll continue to make Osogbo first when we want to think of Western region,” he added.

Also addressing distributors and marketers of rum from across Osun state at the launch of the new brand, the General Manager of Grand Oak Limited, Mr. Babatunde Adeniyi said 9ja Café Rhum is the world’s best Café Rhum with a unique aroma of coffee and mind blowing taste of rum.

He said, “This new brand is produced with premium neutral alcohol and other secret ingredients blended to perfection. It is truly crafted to entice the taste buds of connoisseurs.”

Adeniyi however appealed to the Federal government to address bottlenecks companies like Grand Oak face in clearing their imported goods at nation’s ports
