Stakeholders Hail Monimichelle over Bayelsa Sports Summit

Veteran Sports journalist and football administrator, Chief Emeka Inyama, who graced the first ever Bayelsa Sports Summit in Yenagoa last week has praised the sponsor of the event, Ebi Egbe, for convening the programme as a roadmap for sports growth in the state.

The summit which was a huge success attracted top government officials, royal fathers, ex internationals, sports administrators, coaches, fans and the media.

“It was a good initiative on the part of Egbe, a vibrant and upward looking young man. He (Egbe) is adding solid value to Bayelsa and Nigerian sports. The summit in Yenagoa was a good one,” stressed Inyama.

Ex international, Waidi Akanni, on his part said the face of Nigerian sports would change if other stakeholders embrace the approach of the Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle, in sports development.

“One thing I like about Egbe is that he is one person that believes in going for the best. He wants the best for Bayelsa sports hence he sponsored the Bayelsa sports summit. His company Monimichelle is out to change the face of Nigerian football pitches. I am simply impressed with what he is doing.”

A media aide of Bayelsa State governor, Daniel Alabra also commended Egbe declaring that he is a man that is eager to see the state development.

“The Bayelsa Sports Summit was a good one and the governor is happy that the likes of Egbe is throwing their weight behind government efforts to turn around Bayelsa sports.”

Meanwhile, Egbe has assured stakeholders that issues raised during the summit would be packaged and sent to government for possible implementation.

“I am happy the summit turned out to be a huge success. The theme of the summit was Way Forward for Bayelsa Sports. In line with the theme, we are going to ensure that the thoughts shared by stakeholders during the summit are made available to government. That way, the government would know how to tackle the problem of sports development in the state. The good thing is that we have a government in Bayelsa that is willing to invest in sports.”
