Organisers Promise Adequate Security for Fans

Flykite Promotions, organisers of GOtv Boxing Night 13, have assured fans coming to the event of adequate security.

The seven-fight boxing event, which will also feature musical performances by Small Doctor, Simi, Falz and Reekado Banks, will hold onDecember 26 at Landmark Centre, Victoria Island Annex, Lagos.

Speaking in Lagos yesterday, CEO of Flykite Promotions, Jenkins Alumona, said the event has a reputation for never having recorded an untoward event in and around the venue since it began in 2014.

“We take security very seriously. One of our partners, KSquare Security, is a leading firm in the security sector. Arrangements have been made with them to provide top-tier security in and around the venue to ensure that fans do not have to bother. Don’t also forget that we are providing buses to move fans from the National Stadium to the venue and back to the stadium after the show. The buses are free for ticket-holding fans and we have made security arrangements at the stadium to facilitate easy boarding and disembarking,” he said.

Organisers have revealed that tickets for the event are available online@ariiyatickets.com, SLOT and Ebeano Supermarket outlets, Freedom Park and National Stadium.

The event will feature two African Boxing Union title fights, featuring two Nigerians-Oto “Joe Boy” Joseph and Olaide “Fijaborn” Fijabi against Egyptian and Kenyan opponents respectively.

It will also see Rasheed “Afonja Warrior” Abolaji defend his West African Boxing Union against Arye Ayitteh of Ghana. Rilwan “Baby Face” Babatunde will seek to win the national light welterweight title when he takes on Chijioke “Painless” Ngige.

There are equally three national challenge bouts. The best boxer at the event will go home with N2.5million, while the runners-up will get N1million and N500, 000 respectively.
