Lagos Grows Talent Ready with Big Reward

Lagos is set to witness the discovery of talented persons through a novel talent hunt scheme called, Lagos Grows Talent”. The innovative platform will find, reward and pitch these talents into the limelight of the entertainment industry.

This is being introduced as part of the “One Lagos Fiesta” annual event, which infuses riveting music with ebullient entertainment, to give an ultrasound welcome into the New Year.

“Lagos Grows Talent” is a deftly produced scheme, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, aimed at elevating the Lagos youths. Residents of Lagos are welcome to come showcase their talents at the “Lagos Grows Talents” and get rewarded. The “Lagos Grows Talent” is known for its heterogeneity as it features diverse talents, which may range from music to crafts. Participation is absolutely free and it requires no element of formal knowledge in education.

Speaking with journalists at a recent news conference, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola said, “We have major talents sitting right here in the heart of Lagos, we have them in the nook and cranny of the state. We also have unemployed youths amongst them, that is why Lagos wants to grow their talents. Lagos is the land of opportunity, and that is who we are. We hereby encourage as many as possible to freely participate in this wonderful innovation”, she said.

Auditions have been scheduled to take place in different regions of the state, including Victoria Island, Badagry, Ikorodu, Epe, and Agege. Audition are scheduled to hold between Monday, December 18 and Friday, December 22.

Selection through different stages would be made by a team of professional judges to move successful contestants to the next level. The leading 10 contestants will perform at the “One Lagos Fiesta”. The grand finale of the event, with the Governor of Lagos State in attendance, will witness the selection of an overall winner chosen by the audience.
