The Plateau State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has endorsed Chief Uche Secondus for the position of the national chairman of the party in the next Saturday convention, noting that Secondus has the interest of the party at heart which was the reason he didn’t connive with Alhaji Alli Modu Sherriff to kill the party when the party was in crisis.

The state chairman of the party, who spoke for other delegates when they received Secondus in Jos yesterday assured him that “we cannot afford to disappoint you; we speak with one voice here in the state, and we would give you our votes next Saturday.”

Earlier, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, who introduced Secondus to the delegates, described him as a man who stood to be counted during the trying times of PDP. He said Secondus unequal wealth of experience stands him out as the most appropriate man to lead the party.

Ihedioha, who was flanked by Austeen Opara and other dignitaries in Secondus entourage, disclosed that the candidate had at various times served as youth leader, River State party chairman, and as deputy national chairman.
On his part, Secondus said his mission to the national secretariat of the party is to rebuild PDP and take over power for the party in 2019.

He said: “We’ve made mistakes in the past, we have learnt from the mistakes, and we know what to do to correct the mistakes of the past; we shall return power to the state. No longer shall appointments be reserved for people in Abuja; if you deliver your ward, your chairman will recommend you for Abuja- that will be the new reward system for hard work.

“I assure you that I am ready for the job,‎ and I will remain focused on it.”
