The former senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, Mr. Ayo Arise, has been kidnapped.
He was abducted alongside his driver on Sunday evening along the Okene-Abuja highway.
The politician was said to have been travelling in his Mercedes SUV when the gunmen struck by accosting his vehicle and ferried him into the bush.
The abductors have however contacted his family and demanded N80 million ransom.
The abducted former federal parliamentarian was the Chairman, Senate
Committee on Privatisation between 2007 and 2011 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
