A night of exclusive pre-screening of the super hero movie sequel, Justice League took place recently at Genesis Duluxe Cinemas, Lekki. It began with popcorn treats, soda, light conversations, invitation verification and finally a walk through the footlights that usher every cinema goer into a dark auditorium with seats almost full.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League was originally written by the comic writer Gardner Fox. It has been adapted into screen by Chris Terrio and has hit the cinemas across the globe on November 17, with critical reviews in its wake.Justice League follows the event of the 2016 blockbuster, Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. Prompted by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists new ally, Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Batman and Wonder Woman worked swiftly to recruit a new team to combat this new enemy. This new team include Aquaman, Cyborg, and Flash who have the mandate to save the planet from an assault of fatal dimensions.

Flash, a naïve but comical character is the movie’s comic relief. Superman, long dead, is resurrected on the request of his rival, Batman. Maximising Flash’s speed and technical knowledge, Superman is revived and it didn’t take long for him to recall his age-long rivalry with Batman. But as a common enemy threatens them all, Superman becomes a useful accessory in recovering the boxes that empower the enemy.

Even the powerful Aquaman has his weakness and insecurity, which he accidentally discloses to the team, much to his own embarrassment. Cyborg, a hubrid of machine and human comes in handy to track the enemy and the location of the boxes. But will this sequel end without a casualty? That is what movie goers will find out.

Meanwhile, the host of this pre-screening night, Multichoice Nigeria remarked that the event sets Nigeria on a global map for reel entertainment. The General Manager for Multichoice Nigeria, Martin Mabutho said that the “MNet Channels remains the only option for lovers of blockbuster movie titles and exclusive drama series.’’ In the same vein, the regional director, M-Net West Africa, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu observed that the exclusive pre-screening “puts Nigeria once again on the global map of blockbuster movie appreciation’’ and “reinforces Multichoice’s position as the undisputed leader of all things entertainment.’’
