Come Monday, one Mrs. Betty Ifeoma, who repeatedly maltreated her ward, 13-year-old Nkechi Oseh, would be charged to court.

Oseh was rescued by the operatives of the Lagos State Command led by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos state, Ag.Cp Edgal Imohimi, after being locked for days with a few pieces of cabin biscuit to live on by her guardian.

The employer was accused of being in the habit of travelling and locking up the minor in a room of her house with little or no food.

Days after the sting operation was carried out, Imohimi said the suspect would be charged to court on Monday to answer to her actions.

Speaking through the state police spokesman, SP Chike Oti, the CP said, “We wish to inform members of the public that the employer of the victim of abuse, one Ms Betty Ifeoma reported herself to the police.

“She is currently undergoing interrogation at the Human Right section of Lagos State Police Command. The suspect would be charged to court on Monday.

“I wish to use this medium to warn parents to be mindful of whom they entrust their children in order to avoid abuse of this nature.”
