PETAN to Hold 2017 Industry Achievement Awards Dinner

The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) has fixed November 30 for its 2017 Clients’ Appreciation and Industry Achievement Awards Dinner. The 12th Oil Industry Achievement Award Ceremony, with the theme, ‘Nigerian Independent Operators’ Value Maximisation: Opportunities for Indigenous Services Companies’, will hold at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, by 6:30pm.

According to a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary, PETAN, Nik C. Odinuwe, the event will provide a unique platform for close interactions between leading Nigerian oil service companies, senior executives in international oil companies, government policy makers and top political leaders to share ideas on the Nigerian oil industry in a relaxed and conducive atmosphere.

Some of the honoured awardees will include; international oil companies (IOCs), NOCs, services companies, individuals & personalities that have impacted the industry positively and have made outstanding contributions to the development of local content in the oil and gas industry.
The Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Maikanti Baru will be in attendance.

PETAN is made up of Nigerian indigenous oilfield service companies and was founded to utilise the technical know-how acquired in the oil and gas industry by Nigerians as a springboard for economic and technological advancement.
PETAN companies employ over 20,000 engineers and other technical personnel with direct employment of over 80,000 people. PETAN companies also offer 250 distinct technical services to the Nigerian oil industry and many of these companies now parade similar services in Mauritania, Ghana, Cameroun, Equitorial Guinea, Congo, Gabon, Tanzania, Mozambique, Chad, Angola, South Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia and the United States.
